We are excited that our newest ride, Journey to Atlantis, a combination roller coaster and water ride, will open at SeaWorld San Antonio on May 12, 2007. This is two weeks before our original estimate of May 25.
Journey to Atlantis is nearly 100 feet, almost as tall as the park’s inverted coaster, The Great White, and is the sixth major ride added to the park. Riders need only be 42 inches high to ride, making it a great family ride.
After the initial spin, boats are propelled backwards down a reverse camelback. At the crest of the second hill, the boats rotate 360 again and riders enjoy a panoramic view of San Antonio and SeaWorld. Finally, they are plunged down afinal hill and splashing into a lake and through geysers and water spouts, also soaking those watching on the observation platform.
