Hey coaster riders, the holiday season is in full swing at SeaWorld San Antonio. We have "decked the halls" and plan to keep having a jolly good time right through the end of the year.
My favorite part of the season is the cooler days. It makes the rides and the shows even more pleasant. I also love the the chance to spend time with family and friends and, of course, all of the amazing food.
What about you, what is your favorite part of the holiday season?
The SeaWorld San Antonio Coaster Challenge is picking up speed! Thanks to the 88 riders who have already completed the Challenge. The rides teams are still working pretty hard to impress all of you, our guests. Here’s the vote so far:
Is your favorite team in the top spot? Make sure to come out and take the Coaster Challenge to help them keep it or move your team to Number 1. Don’t forget to vote on the back of the Challenge Card and we always want to hear about your ride.
Also, if you just haven’t gotten a chance to come out to take the Coaster Challenge and get your T-shirt, remember the Challenge ends November 30. Don’t miss out, only 4 more days of Coaster Challenge riding left!
SeaWorld San Antonio’s Coaster Challengers are still going strong. The SeaWorld Rides Operations Team is still vying for your attention, so remember to cast your vote after completing the Coaster Challenge! Hope to see you at the park.
Don’t miss the fun! Check it out here:
The month of November is all about roller coasters at SeaWorld San Antonio. We are excited about our coaster challenge to celebrate our 20th birthday.
After your meet the challenge, we hope that you share your story and a picture with us. Wear your 20th Anniversary T-shirt, or just share a photo from the park to illustrate your story.
Your photo may get featured here on The Queue and if it is, we will send you a little gift.
Last week we talked with a few of our guests around the park, including the American Coaster Enthusiasts, and they were having a blast! Watch as they meet the challenge.
Coaster Challengers and fans can come out to the see all the fun holiday decorations up around SeaWorld San Antonio. We’re gearing up for our SeaWorld Holiday Celebration at SeaWorld San Antonio. Decorations are going up all over the park, especially at SeaWorld’s Main Entrance.
A few fun SeaWorld decoration facts:
* The huge wreath hanging on the Main Entrance arch is approximately 17 feet in diameter and had to be custom made from scratch!
* Some of the SeaWorld ornaments on the Main Entrance tree and the wreath on the arch are BIGGER than basketballs.
* SeaWorld Holiday Celebration ornaments came from across the country, including California, Michigan and Connecticut.
The enthusiasm from SeaWorld’s Ride Operations team members for the Coaster Challenge was so impressive during the launch this weekend. Each SeaWorld team member I saw during the Coaster Challenge kickoff was so excited about the contest. The Great White team members were telling jokes on the loudspeaker- Samantha tells a hilarious Burger King joke by the way. The Steel Eel team got every hand to clap and every mouth to cheer on the platform. The Rio Loco team members were even promoting the Coaster Challenge in an effort to get more votes. I can only imagine how the other SeaWorld rides teams were competing and how the spirit will increase as the SeaWorld Coaster Challenge continues.
So, as voting fever grips the country, we want to remind y’all that your vote counts all month at SeaWorld. These team members are working hard to be the best and we invite you to keep the voting spirit alive at SeaWorld San Antonio by picking your favorite Ride Operations team during the Coaster Challenge the entire month of November. Just ride your 20 rides, get your free t-shirt and don’t forget to vote for favorite SeaWorld San Antonio Rides Team on your challenge card.
Today we hosted members of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) group at the park to launch this Web site and to kick-off the SeaWorld San Antonio Coaster Challenge. We really love interacting with this group, their enthusiasm (I know, it’s in the group’s name) for coasters is absolutely contagious. Everyone we met today planned on completing their Coaster Challenge cards before leaving SeaWorld San Antonio. In addition to our local visitors for the kick-off, we even had ACErs come from as far away as Belton and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Rob La Gesse, a local blogger, brought out his teenagers to have fun at the park and they were even willing to talk about their experience as the inaugural Coaster Challenge kick-off riders. Look for that video to hit in a few days.
What was even more amazing, was the fact that before we even officially launched the program with the ACE riders, we learned from our Ride Operations Teams that they had Challenge participants riding the coasters as early as this morning. I met two boys in the park who had ridden the Rio Loco water ride 20 TIMES, almost in a row, to complete their challenge cards.
Update: Here are some of the photos we took yesterday.
Wave TV is SeaWorld’s bi-weekly video feature program created for team members. Wave TV debuted in 2005 and was originally conceived to showcase park events for team members as they rode the shuttle bus to their workstation. Last year, this award-winning communications program moved to the SeaWorld YouTube channel; now everyone can share the program. Check out what’s new behind the scenes at SeaWorld San Antonio.
