Keto (the second born to Kalina in 1995 Male) was the whale involved in the accident. I hate to say this - with no adult whale suvervison of the youngsters Loro Parque in Tenerif was an accident waiting to happen. Why haven't the SWSD people been informed of this??? I was there for Takara's birth and her first baby's birth in SD and am happy she is closer than Flordia now :) She is my favorite whale!!!! Did her second born get left in FL? I hope Koho her first baby is doing ok in Teneriff after the tragity..... Sending prayers to all involved. I still think mom's and baby's should stay together for life just like in the wild - birng Tickie, Koho, Trua back to San Diego!!!! :) When did Tickie get moved to San Antanio??? I've been awaiting its arrival since it was revealed she was pregnant. The calf is so cute, and I hope it will live for many years. As for those who are yelling free all the orcas from captivity, you are being very unrealistic. No wild orcas have been captured for a very long time, and these two orcas were born in captivity. They don't know life beyond what they know, and the wild-caught orcas have been in captivity for far too long to be safely released. Even orcas who have been in captivity for a few years are difficult to release. I am so happy Takara has given birth to her new calf.
