Thursday, July 14 began early with another three hour stint in a blind doing a common tern feeding study. It was a cool, wet, windy morning. A storm had rolled in the previous evening, and we watched with glee as the rain filled our waiting collection of buckets, pans and our big rainwater collection drum. While drinking water is brought to the island in large plastic containers, rainwater is collected for washing dishes, clothes, hands, or just about anything else.

Animal Connections: Meet Nurra the Wallaby!

This week, we would like to introduce you to Nurra, our Bennett's wallaby.
Nurra was named in honor of our Adventure Camp program, as her name means “camp” in Aborigine.

SeaWorld Saves Water

As the San Antonio City Manager, Sheryl Sculley, made the official declaration of Stage One on April 10th, SeaWorld was listening. Several of SeaWorld's management had already developed the park's Water Conservation Plan and had submitted the plan to the San Antonio Water System.
