Military Child Appreciation Day

by Staff

April is the Month of the Military Child, and SeaWorld San Antonio was honored to be a part of celebrating with them at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas earlier this month. Shamu came out to meet and greet with children between their baseball, t-ball and soccer games and even hand out some bubbles to the little ones.

Whale-Sized Rally for Texas Girl Scouts

More than 6,000 people attended this month's Annual Cookie Rally for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas at SeaWorld San Antonio. The park has hosted the event for the past decade, and this year SeaWorld team members treated the Girl Scouts to a special presentation of SeaWorld shows, including the new Shamu show "One Ocean." Scouts (who were tall enough) got to ride The Great White and Steel Eel coasters.

Texas Media Previews Aquatica

Aquatica San Antonio will be coming to SeaWorld in May 2012. Recently, we had the opportunity to take some San Antonio media and Texas bloggers to Aquatica in Orlando, Florida for a familiarization tour. When given the chance to go, I gladly said YES! This was my very first time to see Florida, so to get the chance to finally visit our sister parks was exciting.

SeaWorld on the Road and Reaching Out to Young Patients

Several times a year, SeaWorld team members from Communications, Education and Conservation, and the Animal Ambassador Team hit the road to spread our conservation message. We participate in interviews for the media, conduct presentations at elementary schools, and visit children's hospitals across Texas.

Project Puffin: Day 3

It’s Saturday, July 9th - my third day on the island. There was a rainstorm overnight - I wish I could send some of the rain clouds to Texas! The morning dawned rainy and foggy, which ruled out any early field work. Instead, we geared up for the day by making bacon and pancakes, which is the perfect way to start any rainy morning!

Meet the Skiers at SeaWorld San Antonio

One of the great things about Summertime at SeaWorld is it means our Ski Team is back to shred the lake! You may not know this but many of our skiers come from other parts of the country, some are new to our park, some are veterans and some are even second generation skier here at SeaWorld San Antonio!

A Texas-Sized Flag for a Texas-Sized Celebration

Everything is bigger in Texas, and SeaWorld doesn't disappoint, especially when it comes to patriotism. Every morning at 10 a.m. time stops as we honor our country with the playing of the National Anthem. It's an amazing spectacle to behold: nearly every man, woman and child (team member and guest alike) falls still in revered silence with a hand over their heart to face the flag. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it now...

Aquatica Texas – Where South Texas meets the South Seas

I’ve been biting my tongue for a LONG, LONG TIME, and can finally shout it out…AQUATICA IS COMING! Planning for any project at our parks takes years to complete, so you can imagine how long we have been working on building a new waterpark! Lost Lagoon has been a staple of SeaWorld for almost 20 years; however it never offered guest a completely original experience. Now

The Final Splash of Texas Splashdown

After 20 years of chills and thrills at SeaWorld San Antonio, the log flume ride, Texas Splashdown, will make its final splash on Friday, May 13. The ride has been enjoyed for more than two decades, and SeaWorld is inviting guests to experience it one last time before the ride closes.
