A Day in the Life of Clay!

by Staff

I get the question all the time, "Clay what do you do at SeaWorld?" My answer always is, well I work with animals, but that's not the whole story.

Team Member Tuesday: Shamu Theater Stage Managers, Crystal Brandon and Jo Sanburg

In this week’s Team Member Tuesday, we’ve decided to feature some of the hard working people at Shamu Theater. As you may have heard, we’ve just premiered our new Shamu show, One Ocean, last Friday and that required a lot of coordination from all of our team members. From the entertainment department to the animal training staff, everyone was been hard at work!

The Final Splash of Texas Splashdown

After 20 years of chills and thrills at SeaWorld San Antonio, the log flume ride, Texas Splashdown, will make its final splash on Friday, May 13. The ride has been enjoyed for more than two decades, and SeaWorld is inviting guests to experience it one last time before the ride closes.

Let's Get This Season Started Already!

Even though we just closed 2010 season about 8 weeks ago and hosted a huge BBQ Cook-off event in January, it’s been too long without guests! The energy around the park this year is off the charts. Working at a Theme Park is Hard Work. Here's Why We Do It!

by Staff

Working in a theme park is not a typical kind of job. This is especially true if your park includes animals, they require care 24/7, open or closed, good weather or bad. The folks that stay around are very dedicated and have decided that traditional summer holidays can be celebrated other days of the week and that not having weekends off can be a good thing for errand running - less crowds on weekdays.

At SeaWorld I am surrounded by just such a dedicated group of people, many that have been with the park 10, 15, 20 or even 30 plus years.

When SeaWorld San Antonio opened in 1988, my family got season passes right away. I remember my first Shamu show so clearly, I can tell you what seat I was sitting in.

"Who Knows What Miracles..."

by Staff

In the midst of the holiday chaos, I find myself easily lost in the hustle and bustle of shopping, baking and decorating while maintaining a full work schedule. Even at work, I get caught up with the many tasks to be accomplished and lose sight of what the holidays are really about. A small visitor recently reminded me to take a step back, slow down, and count the blessings that are all around me. I was watching through the eyes of a child...

I love this time of year because we celebrate the season at Shamu Theatre with “Shamu Christmas Mirac
