Project Puffin: Day 6

Thursday, July 14 began early with another three hour stint in a blind doing a common tern feeding study. It was a cool, wet, windy morning. A storm had rolled in the previous evening, and we watched with glee as the rain filled our waiting collection of buckets, pans and our big rainwater collection drum. While drinking water is brought to the island in large plastic containers, rainwater is collected for washing dishes, clothes, hands, or just about anything else.

Up-close, 360-degree, see-everything, virtual visits to the SeaWorld parks in San Antonio, Orlando and San Diego -- as well as Discovery Cove, a swim-with-dolphins resort and Aquatica, SeaWorld's waterpark, both in Orlando -- are now online.

This is great because I love knowing what new and exciting things are happening around our parks, but not so great when you are waiting for the newest attraction to be built.
