Howl-O-Scream is just around the corner and our Entertainment Department is conducting auditions for the 2011 Scare Squad. We need Scare Actors to give guests a scare during all of the festivities. No need to prepare anything; all materials will be taught. The last two days of auditions are Thursday, Sept. 1 and Saturday, Sept. 3 from 5-8 p.m. You only need to attend one audition to be considered.

Remember how you felt, as a child, the day before the first day of a new school year? There was the excitement and nervousness about starting that first new day. You had all of your “new” things laid out, back pack, supplies, outfit and new shoes. Well the same feeling resonates for the Operations Department as we gear up for SeaWorld San Antonio's park opening on February 26^th. We are excited for that first new day of the 2011 season but we have a short window to pull everything together.

The song has been playing over and over in my head since SpongeBob is visiting our park this week.

It's official! We have a name for our new baby beluga. After a week of polling, 73% of the over 2,000 total votes make “Bella” the official name of our new baby beluga whale.

The response was terrific and we thank all who voted and encouraged their friends and family to do so. It was really awesome to get comments from parents who told us they cast their vote as a family.

Cannery Row Caper, Part I

So, two guys are sitting in a bar (don't worry this is not a bad joke....) They are kicking around ideas for a new Sea Lion show.
