Name That Bird: The Answer!

Last week we showed you some pictures of our newest member of the SeaWorld family, and asked if you could identify him. You all certainly know your baby animals - the vast majority of guesses were correct, identifying the chick as a penguin. But the last time I checked only two individuals, Bethany and Amanda, even got the species - king penguin!

Animal Athletes at SeaWorld

We’re gearing up for the 2nd annual Run for the Fund, and all this talk about physical fitness and ability got us thinking about some of the incredible athletic adaptations animals have that help them compete in the everyday “game” of survival. They rely on these adaptations to help them find food, reproduce, move, and communicate with other animals.

Ever wonder what the view is like from underwater?

Most people think of dolphins and whales when SeaWorld comes to mind. Who doesn’t love touching the smooth skin of a bottlenose dolphin or seeing a killer whale drench the first 15 rows of Shamu Stadium? Don’t get me wrong … I love dolphins and whales, but I have tons of fun everyday hanging out with Clyde & Seamore so I think everyone should love them just as much as I do!

USITT-SW Visits Sea World

This past Saturday the Entertainment Department with assistance from Animal Training hosted a group of USITT – Southwest members (United States Institute for Theatre Technology) to a day of "a behind the scenes look" at Sea World San Antonio. USITT – Southwest consists of students, educators and Theatre Professionals from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana. This year their annual conference was held in San Antonio and one of the featured events was a visit to our park.
