Whale-Sized Rally for Texas Girl Scouts

More than 6,000 people attended this month's Annual Cookie Rally for the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas at SeaWorld San Antonio. The park has hosted the event for the past decade, and this year SeaWorld team members treated the Girl Scouts to a special presentation of SeaWorld shows, including the new Shamu show "One Ocean." Scouts (who were tall enough) got to ride The Great White and Steel Eel coasters.

A Texas-Sized Flag for a Texas-Sized Celebration

Everything is bigger in Texas, and SeaWorld doesn't disappoint, especially when it comes to patriotism. Every morning at 10 a.m. time stops as we honor our country with the playing of the National Anthem. It's an amazing spectacle to behold: nearly every man, woman and child (team member and guest alike) falls still in revered silence with a hand over their heart to face the flag. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it now...

The Countdown Begins...

by Staff

Countdowns are everywhere! Many people countdown to their birthdays (mine's in three months) and some even countdown to their favorite holidays. Valentine's Day, for example, is only eight days away. NASA counts down the shuttle launches, teenagers count the days until Spring Break.

The most important countdown of my year has begun...

22 days and counting!

Only 22 days to get everything ready.

Coaster Commute

by Staff

Some girls put on make-up during the drive to work. Others eat breakfast. I, however, watch the coasters during my daily trek to SeaWorld San Antonio.

This may sound a little odd, but there is something almost Zen about this morning ritual. I think of it as a daily reminder of how many people are later going to have fun, thrills and even chills on those very same rides I am privileged to pass every day on my way to work.

Alamo Bowl Teams Have Blast At SeaWorld

by Staff

Tonight Missouri Wildcats and Northwestern Tigers will square off for the 2008 Valero Alamo Bowl.

But before the teams face off at the Alamodome tonight, the players took some time to have a fun day at SeaWorld San Antonio, including animal interactions and exclusive ride time on the park's Steel Eel roller coaster.

The day started with four Missouri players challenging Uncle Max, SeaWorld's resident wal

Inside SeaWorld San Antonio: Annual Coaster Maintenance

by Staff

I knew SeaWorld San Antonio ride mechanics go through a lot to keep our rides safe and functioning for all of our guests, but didn't quite understand how much work is really put into the rides at SeaWorld San Antonio to keep things rolling.

In fact, every morning each ride at SeaWorld San Antonio goes through a process called “green tagging” where the SeaWorld ride mechanics inspect every aspect of the ride to ma

And The Winners Are…

by Staff

We have calculated the votes for the most spirited team from the SeaWorld Coaster Challenge: 20 Rides for 20 Years. The race was pretty close between several of SeaWorld San Antonio's rides teams. Everyone gave it their all with special jokes, dances and gimmicks to entertain our guests.
