Fall is here! Finally, a break from the heat... only in South Texas is 87 degrees considered cool.

Not only is there cooler weather, but Halloween fun as well.

Matinicus Rock is home to an abundance of seabirds. One that is of particular interest to me is the Common Murre, chiefly because they are a species I care for at SeaWorld San Antonio. Common Murres are a medium sized, fish-eating, almost penguin-like seabird.

I have found the perfect antidote to San Antonio’s incessant heat – a trip to a remote island in Maine! Thanks to the SeaWorld-Busch Gardens Conservation Fund I am able to blog to you from the beautiful, rocky and bird-abundant island of Matinicus Rock.

It's a full-time job giving SeaWorld San Antonio guests a safe, fun trip on the parks many exciting rides.

Everything is bigger in Texas, and SeaWorld doesn't disappoint, especially when it comes to patriotism. Every morning at 10 a.m. time stops as we honor our country with the playing of the National Anthem. It's an amazing spectacle to behold: nearly every man, woman and child (team member and guest alike) falls still in revered silence with a hand over their heart to face the flag. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it now...

The Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade, a SeaWorld Preferred Hotel, wants to show its appreciation to Certified Texas school teachers and their families by offering a special "Teacher Appreciation Rate" this summer.

Whew! Things sure have been busy in the Education and Conservation Department these past few months. While it’s true that the summer time can be quite eventful around here with camp programs and public tours, to me, the spring always feels like the time of year with the highest buzz of activity.

So far we’ve had an amazing year for SeaWorld San Antonio! With so many new attractions, new shows and changes, it’s hard to keep up. Hopefully you’ve taken the time to check out our new area for the kids, Sesame Street Bay of Play. Chances are that you even stumbled upon one or all of our remodeled gift shops.
