Designing and building a new waterpark is a little, no a lot, like making a Christmas list. As we planned Aquatica we looked at attractions at all of our sister parks, but especially Aquatica Florida. We met with ride manufacturers to see what new ideas they were working on and we even created our own ideas using SeaWorld experience with animals. Once we had all the components to make this amazing new waterpark we knew right away we were going to need an image for our guest to convey this great concept.

I’ve been biting my tongue for a LONG, LONG TIME, and can finally shout it out…AQUATICA IS COMING! Planning for any project at our parks takes years to complete, so you can imagine how long we have been working on building a new waterpark! Lost Lagoon has been a staple of SeaWorld for almost 20 years; however it never offered guest a completely original experience. Now

I am one of those people in this world who loves their job, or in my case job(s). I am lucky enough here at SeaWorld to have had a wide variety of responsibilities that takes me from project to project often changing by the hour during the course of a day.

San Antonio, TX. (April 1, 2011) – In a year that features an already huge line up with the additions of Bay of Play, a new Shamu show "One Ocean" SeaWorld San Antonio is set to unveil a brand new, one of a kind, World's First Snipe Exhibit later this season. This attraction will not even be close to the largest single-year capital investment in the park's history. SeaWorld San Antonio has a long and outstanding history of creating unique exhibits in our parks, and this exhibit will be different.

I first came to SeaWorld’s Lost Lagoon in 1996. At that time the waterpark was very small and very busy! In the years since we have grown immensely adding lots of attractions, restaurants and more, and we are STILL busy! We are one of several waterpark in the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment company which means we have lots of sharing opportunities, expertise and of course fun in our waterpark group.

The Lost Lagoon guard staff has a huge responsibility to make sure all of our guests are safe during their visit. Waterpark team members are usually in high school or college and come to Lost Lagoon for a summer job.

2011 marks the 15^th year of the Bar-B-Que Cook-off, and the second year that the event is being held here at SeaWorld San Antonio. If you haven’t been to this event it is a must see! We are the world’s largest marine park and we were still in awe of the size and creativity involved in this event.

As the holiday season approaches, the biggest question I get is, "What do you do for the holidays?" All of the animal staff are at the park 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There isn't one of us who hasn't shared a Thanksgiving or Christmas with the animals we care for. Whenever Thanksgiving comes along there is also that inevitable question, “What are you thankful for?”

I’m usually the type of person who waits until the week of Christmas to do all of my shopping. I don’t know if it’s because all my family is out of town and I don’t like travelling with presents or that I’ve never gotten into shopping online and having stuff shipped (except for last year), but that’s the way I do things. I make my list, plan my route and am done within a few hours.
