So I'm sitting here getting my hair done for the Cannery Row Caper, living the good life. I bet you didn't know that Cookies get their hair done before every show. That's probably the only thing that has stayed the same since the show started. I was one of the original Cookies and it's really interesting to see how it has progressed.
We started looking for Uncle Max, then fish, then we had a choreographed mimic sequence where we held the sea lions back flippers like a shopping cart. We have meetings about the shows with entertainment, then we meet with trainers to come up with new behaviors.
The show is never the same-sometimes because the animals change, and sometimes because we as trainers make a change for the animals.
Come by and see us sometime and I guarantee you'll never see the same show twice.
