Giving Praise Where Its Due

Another great Praise Wave is in the books. More than 11 artists performed over 2 days at SeaWorld San Antonio. This Christian music festival is a personal favorite since I listen to most of the artists regularly on K-LOVE and Star AM 810. It may seem natural to credit most of the weekend's success to the incredible line up of artists, but I need to spread some praise to the people who make it happen.

First, I've got to give props to our Entertainment and Events departments for pulling off one massive operation. Putting on a concert is no walk in the park. Months and months of prep work had to be done, which included covering all the fine details with tour managers, promoters, stage technicians, artists, festival booth vendors and more. Then, you've got to make sure that EVERY department at SeaWorld is on the same page! It's a good thing that we have seasoned pros working on concerts; they make it look so easy.

Next, hats off go to Greg Carnes for orchestrating the artists' schedules to bring them to San Antonio. Greg put together a great mix of artists who offered a varitey of Contemporary Christian Music styles, from low-key performers like Lainey Wright and Matthew West to the amped-up offerings of Newsboys and Kutless.

Finally, I need to spread some thanks to the thousands of music fans who come back year after year to support the festival. Without these guests and Annual Pass Members, we wouldn't be able to put on the event. I saw concert goers with Praise Wave shirts from 2009 and 2010 this weekend. You all rock!

Did you make it out to Praise Wave this year? If so, leave us a comment about your favorite band, suggestions for next year, or other thoughts about the festival.
