SeaWorld San Antonio's Third Annual Run for the Fund

What do you get when you take SeaWorld San Antonio, a lemur, Mix 96.1, some cheerleaders, a few whales and over 1,000 runners? Give up? The answer is SeaWorld San Antonio’s Third Annual Run for the Fund!

Debuting in 2010, The Run was created to bring awareness to and raise resources for The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. And much to our delight, the event was a huge success. In fact, last year, The Run donated over $28,000 to the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. With a couple of years under our belt, the event has grown and promises to deliver participants with a day to remember. And best of all, The Conservation Fund will receive the money needed to help animal projects throughout the world.

Slated for Saturday, October 6, the event will feature a 5K, 10K and Family Fun Walk. Like past years, the course will twist through the park grounds, past animal encounters and allow participants to stay and enjoy the park for the rest of the day. This year, we’ve added music by Mix 96.1, local high school cheerleaders to cheer runners along the course, a private Sesame Street performance and a special, never before seen beluga show. It’s gonna be better than ever!

So go to The Run for the Fund website, get a little more info and join us. We are working hard to make it the best Run imaginable and I have heard from numerous sources that it will be. It’s amazing what you get when you mix a theme park, some dedicated folks, some spirited animals and a worthy cause!
