2011 was an incredibly rewarding year for me as the Park President of SeaWorld San Antonio. We achieved remarkable and, in many cases, record results in just about every category we measure; attendance, revenue and efficiency. These achievements are simply a result of focusing on the softer side of the business and one that I take the most pride in. Placing the highest emphasis and focus on our team member’s satisfaction drives many important areas including the satisfaction of our guests, the pride, passion and quality we invest in the park and the safety of every individual and our animals.
In addition to great financial success we also achieved unprecedented success in team member satisfaction, guest satisfaction and safety, and our park has never looked so good. While we enjoy this success, it is not something we take for granted. We intend to take advantage of the momentum we have created and ride this wave to even greater success in 2012, and it all starts with focusing on our team members and taking great care of each other.
In 2012 I’ll blog on a regular basis to highlight many of the specific things we’re doing behind the scenes and out in the park to focus on efforts in these key areas: guest satisfaction, team member satisfaction, and quality.
